In September of 2018, during a conversion to high-pressure gas lines, a massive over-pressure occurred in several towns in Massachusetts. This caused many fires and several deaths. It also leftover 9,000 households without heat as winter approached.
Having repaired the service lines throughout the affected area, Nisource (Columbia’s parent company at the time) turned to Carrollton and other partners to accelerate the restoration process.
The restoration was successful before the December 13th deadline set by the Governor of the state. Carrollton and its partners then stayed on for most of 2019 to complete the data gathering from all contractors and the completion of restoration work once the weather turned warm again.
